I am copying an article ad verbatim from this mornings Times of India Mumbai India 21st Feb 2006 with the above title :
lucknow:Three days after an Uttar Pradesh minister announced a bounty for beheading a Danish cartoonist, an influential cleric on Monday issued a fatwa echoing a call and adding fuel to the simmering cauldron of hatred.
Qazi of Firangi Mahal Taksal Maulana IrfanulHaleem, issued a fatwa calling upon devout Muslims to ensure that the artists who penned cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad in a Danish daily “paid with their lives”.
Haleem said thhough the Koran disapproved of killing a human beings the holy books also spoke of inflicting unbearable pain to those who tried to damage the name of the Holy Prophet or his teachings…
Haleems logic wa simple ,”What do you do when faced with a rogue elephant or a poisonous snake .The most obvious reason is to finish it off before it causes seious damage .So how can you let go of a person who has defamed the name of the Prophet.?”
I Firoze Shakir Photographerno1 wont read further about retribution..and justification.. but at the moment each Friday congregational prayers will be rhetorics in vitriolic phrases.. and every Maulana unheard of will be in the 3 second of lime light on news channels.. specially those upnorth, and as it is this issue is a slap on the face of certain segment of the Deobabdi sect that see the Prophet as Allahs messenger and nothing else..and a neighbour Tabbliki also went as far to call him Ummi meaning uneducated,.. of course he keeps away from me my liberalism to human life he took as my ignorance.
 We are believers of The Ahlul Bayt..any one who hurts the Holy Prophet hurts us and the entire Muslim Community.. irrespective of its sectarian sores..An idle mind is a Devils Workshop and all this inciting and rabble rousing is harmful.. what realy hurts me is the stupid and brainless attitude of the Cartoonist in this case.. he single handedly standing on a newsprint of a Giant beanstalk wants to take a swing at all that is Holier than Holy in Islam or any other religion through freedom of expression.. he could even go f**** his mother under the guise of freedom of expression.,the world would turn a blind eye but here it is Islam and behind it is a religious righteousness.. this is the kind of defiance that the militants look foward to.. an excuse to make a bonfire to warm their wounded souls… you can do nothing about it.. not even a body count of Innocence
