Chup Tazia in Lucknow, originally uploaded by firoze shakir photographerno1.

Most of the pictures in my set Scanned Memories at my Flickr Photostream, are pictures I shot from 2002 mostly on slides and Ilford Delta 100 BW film .
I shot color rolls too Kodak and Fuji.

The pictures I shot on slides I mounted for sending them to salon participation, a sheer waste as I retrospect, the slides to have gone to seed.
Some I kept back, on the folder and am seeong them now for the first time .
This was because of my work load , but I toook time off to shoot .

The digital has made the task much easier and the Canon G9 snuggly fits in the pocket so I rarely miss a street shot opportunity.

I am a hobbyist photographer , an amateur photographer , this keeps the passion fuelled and alive.

I loved shooting the Chup Tazia during Athvi segment f Moharam.
This s when Moharam comes to an end after 2 month eight days.
Chup Tazia is an awesome almost silent procession, nohas are recited and all you hear is a sob and the echo of a tear .
Tears are the drops of Faith to the core of Shiasm.
Water is the story of Karbala , water is what holds us intact through our tears , tears that are part of Ghame Hussain.

The tragedy of Imam Hussains Martyrdom.. under the regime of Yazid a tyrant cruel despot who took protection from a somnolent society and the misguidance and misinterpretation of the values of True Islam.

Modern Jehaddi Terrorism is nothing but a carried forward agenda of hate against Humanity…
I see humanity in the spectrum of my Shia soul that I inherited from my mothers womb..
that Mrziya my grand daughter has inherited from her mothers womb..

1400 year the Chant of Ya Hussain is nothing but a call against Yazidiyat , but no one read this and Shiasm was termed as an heresy of Faith.

I would rather be a hertetic and be closer to my Maker than be a misguided Muslim avenging the wrongs perpetrated on society.

This feeling comes from being born in India the land of Vishnu Brahma Mahadev..
A land that Imam Hussain loved immensely .. yes this is Hindustan..
This is home for a Shia Pandit.
