With this picture I bring to end at my Flickr photostream the 617 picture story of the Hallauris and the Arhvi Amary Juloos at Govandi..

I am surprised it was a long series two days and thanks to Cassim Hallauri who helped me and took me to Govandi on his bike to record the love of these Shia devout migrants of Hallaur.

Khurshid Hallauri is the most famous Hallaur with a Bollywood connection a lyricist and a Nohakar , who is very close to my father in law Abbas Qasim Qazilbash of Diamond Cassettes Nakhas , he is also close to my brother in law Mohomed Arif.

There are other Hallauris like Nayab , Khushtar and Betab.. of these I have met Khushtar once at the Shia Rehmatabad Chehlum event.. two years back.

Cassim and Mohsin are the ones close to home , among my dear friends.

The picture is of Zuljana moving out back to the stables from where he came , he symbolises a Faith of the Shias in Ahle Bayt.

Shiasm is a metaphor of universal Peace taking on Yazidiyat and global terrorism the illegitimate child of Yazidiyat - head on from one generation to the next unbroken for 1400 years , fear may have made the Shias of old opt for Taqqaiya , but today even a little chld unafraid sheds blood that personifies our religious faith in Hussainiyat ..
the path we have chosen to reach Allahs doorsteps through Ahle Rasool..

Dr Glenn Losack MD .
He is a magician of a photographer from Manhattan New York..
We met on the net , the rest his history.
He visited my home in Mumbai had lunch with my family and we treated him as family.
He gave me the G9 Canon as a gift though being mortal and human I was hoping he would give me his Nikon D80 before he went back to the States.

Using a camera that once belonged to Glenn Losack is more than a relic.. and the doctor is an icon figure among the Shias and the beggars of Haji Ali.
The Shia community endeared themselves to Dr Glenn Losack, because he respected their religiosity , wore black, shot bare feet , the Kurla juloos and the Chehlum juloos.
The doctor understood the Shia pain and Ghame Hussain.
I had to explain to him the Alams , the Taboots and the Shia symbolism.

The doctor now plans to come and shoot Ashura along with another good photographer from Flickr Eric Parker .

I think Dr Glenn Losack must have been the first American photographer to climb up Haji Malang and climb down the same day.

Laxmi Narayan Tripathi became his Rakhi sister ..

I also took Dr Glenn Losack to Hijda Gully No 1 at Kamatipura , but the building was being renovated and the Doctor wanted to pay respects to Zeenath Guru.

At Haji Malang the doctor had lunch with Baby Guru and other transgenders.

The Doctor was highly impressed with Habib Nasser when he visited Habibs house the day he arrived and saw Habibs video of his slashed back and the 200 stitches to put it back in order.

This was shot at an Irani joint before we took the train from Byculla Station to Kalyan to visit Haji Malang.
Dr Glenn Losack MD stayed at Heritage Hotel opposite Gloria Church, the hotel was centrally located and served his picture shooting purpose.
It was close to the Shia cemetery Rehmatabad.
And the Doctor was taken good care by the hotel management and staff.
The doctor wanted to shoot the Chehlum Juloos and other Moharam events besides his other committments .
