Shah ast Hussain (as)

I am in great pain because of the cut and swelling on my right hand my hand got cut with my scourging blades at Jamma Masjid.
I was actually planning to post my Lucknow Ashura pictures that are gathering dust on my CDS, I have not seen a single frame a yet, this is my kind of attitude towards photography, I am grateful to the Abidis parents of front page celebrity sports photographer Adnan Abidi.
Adnan is in Jamaica, I stayed here, Mrs Ashraf Abidi,Adnans mom, was a fabulous host, I was with them for 2 days.Ashraf Abidi his dad and I share the same grandfather Daroga Nabban Saab.
This picture is of the progeny and head of the house Mr Mohomed Ali whose family started the Tazia tradition 250 years back.
The Safed Tazia and the Kala Chup Tazia.
He has been stuck by a sudden paralytic attack, but he was calling the shot from his bed, this joint family, is a wonderful family. May God give all of them success, may Mr Mohomed Ali Saab recover too, my collective thanks to all of them big and small.
I was immensely touched by the Shias of Delhi, I have kept my Ashura pictures on hold, to show you Delhi guys your world through the humility of my camera eye.

The man in the picture is mentally unstable Sunni man, he cannot talk normal, but keeps invoking the name of Hazrat Imam Hussain , here he is dumbstruck with the spirituality of a very touching moment, after the recitation of marsiyas, a  short majlis by an emotional Maulana Nadir Ali the Safed Tazia will move to be buried 21 kms away at Shahe Marda Karbala..

This private Imambada is in a predominantly Sunni locality, only 2 Shia houses , but there is mutual respect, the Safed Tazia moves through congested lanes , over head wires cause a lot of problem, but there is calm, over cautious Delhi Police Bandobast.
The young guys do hand matam, each anjuman keeps joining in..

The Mohomed Ali family, have the original alams, behind the alams the Kala Tazia that will come on the streets of Delhi on 7th Rabbilawwal trudging 21 km, with women children and men.
This Tazia is of The Fourth Imam.. Zainul Abedeen

I was in Delhi to shoot and participate in Chehlum 40th day of the Martydom of Hazrat Imam Huusain.
The Chehlum procession begins from a house of Mr Mohomed Ali, his forefathers began
This procession 250 years ago
.Late Khushid Ali and Late Masooom .Ali also late Mehboob Ali.
The Chehlum one starts with a White Tazia and Hazrat Aabbas Alam from Pahari Mohalla close to a lane within a bye lane of Jamma Masjid.Delhi.
At the Jamma Masjid close to the Jamma Masjid Police Station the scourging and the kama matam takes place. I did my Tandav Matam here cut my right hand accidentally , so typing all this very tough.
This is a 21 km Juloos and meanders through Connaught Place , Rashtrapati Bhavan, the only procession to pass by this secured road since its inception 250 years back, the older folks told me Late Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru hands folded in solemnity greeted the Juloos when it came this way.
Rest for an hour at Late President Fakhruddins Mosque, tea , refreshments, light snacks , the juloos heads to the Shia cemetery called Shahe Marda Karbala,a short majlis by Maulana Kalbe Jawad Saab, once again the scourgings and kama matam continue..
After all this the White Tazia is buried at the Karbala.
I had to abort all this due to sudden heavy rains .
The unique factor of this Tazia procession is that women accompany to walking the entire 21 km with their kids on their waist. The Delhi Shia community , small as it is gives its best , the young boys very cultured, hospitable., the older folks going out of their way to carry on the heritage of their for fathers and pass the mantle to the generation next.
I think Jannabe Sayyada wanted me to share their love of Hazrat Imam Hussain with all of you.
On 7th Rabbilwal will be a mammoth procession called Kala Chup Tazia of the Fourth Imam..Dont miss it.
